St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral is one of Victoria’s most important Christian landmarks. The original church was consecrated on 15 May 1859 by William Vincent Ryan, the first Anglican Bishop of Mauritius.
Over time, the church was extended and rebuilt to serve the growing Anglican community in Seychelles. It became a cathedral in 1961, marking its importance within the Anglican Church in the region.
The cathedral is also remembered as a place of shelter and community support after the devastating 1862 Lavalas landslide.

La cathédrale anglicane St Paul est l’un des monuments chrétiens importants de Victoria. L’église d’origine a été consacrée le 15 mai 1859 par William Vincent Ryan, premier évêque anglican de Maurice.
Au fil du temps, l’église a été agrandie et reconstruite afin d’accueillir la communauté anglicane grandissante des Seychelles. Elle obtient le statut de cathédrale en 1961.
Le site est aussi associé à l’histoire locale, notamment comme lieu de refuge et de soutien après le glissement de terrain de 1862, appelé Lavalas.
